How to shop for leather on Amazon without getting burned

The whole game is reading the listing. A bag’s price tells you very little on Amazon — a real full-grain briefcase and a PU look-alike can sit ten dollars apart. Three habits keep you out of trouble.

Read the grade, not the adjective

“Vintage,” “premium” and “designer” mean nothing. “Full-grain” and “top-grain” are real answers; “PU,” “vegan leather” and “faux” mean synthetic. If a listing only says “genuine leather,” it’s usually real but a lower, corrected grade — fine for a budget bag, not a buy-it-for-a-decade one.
